BritishAmerican Business Presents: The Prospects for the Euro and Sterling in the Economic Downturn
Event date: Wednesday July 8th 2009
The IMF has forecast that the annual rate of growth within the Eurozone area will contract by 4.2%, which is very similar to forecasts for the UK. With this envisaged equality of misery, our panel will examine the relative prospects for both Sterling and the Euro and the likely role that these currencies will play in the economic recovery.
They will also consider whether the crisis has increased the prospect of the UK joining the Eurozone or whether the flexibility provided by independence will reinforce the arguments of staying out. They will also consider the likely changes to the values of Sterling and the Euro against the US dollar and other major currencies.”
This event is being organised by our Accountancy Forum and EU Trade & Investment Forum.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Trevor Cullinan, Associate in the European Sovereign Ratings Group, Standard & Poor's
