The British-Consul General announce ‘The GREAT British Run’ in Central Park
2012 is a GREAT year for the UK, hosting HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. To mark the occasion, the British Consulate is pleased to announce the launch of The GREAT British Run, which will take place on the evening of May 31st in Central Park. The run will celebrate Britain’s rich heritage and culture, so why not come dressed in your British best as we commemorate Britain’s past, present and future.
The race will be a fully accessible six kilometres and will support two special charities St George’s Society and Disabled Sports USA. Each kilometre represents a decade of HM The Queen’s reign and racers are encouraged to wear costume to represent a decade. Before the race, Play Rugby USA and representatives from the English Rugby Premiership will be holding a warm-up for the runners.
