You and a guest are invited to enjoy VIP Seating at the Metropolitan Opera’s Opening Night live relay of Jake Heggie’s
Dead Man Walking in Times Square on Tuesday, September 26.
This tradition, which began in 2006, is a wonderful way to enjoy Opening Night in New York’s iconic epicenter, with a live simulcast of the performance presented on numerous digital billboards throughout Times Square.
The 2023–24 season gets off to a stirring start with Jake Heggie’s operatic adaptation of Sister Helen Prejean’s memoir about her fight for the soul of a condemned murderer. Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts a chilling new production by Tony Award–winner Ivo van Hove, starring mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato as Sister Helen. The outstanding cast also features bass-baritone Ryan McKinny as Joseph De Rocher, soprano Latonia Moore as Sister Rose, and legendary mezzo-soprano Susan Graham—who sang Helen Prejean in the opera’s 2000 premiere — as De Rocher’s mother.
Limited seats are available. Please RSVP to corporaterelations@metopera.org by Monday, September 25.
