Today the UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds MP announced a new ‘strategic steer’ for the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to encourage growth and an agile and competitive business environment.

In response, BritishAmerican Business CEO Duncan Edwards OBE said:

“There has been a growing concern amongst many of our members about increased and unnecessary regulation acting as a disincentive to investment in the UK. Our members are pleased therefore to see the UK government taking action and setting a growth mandate for the CMA. The strategic steer rightly identifies the need for a more agile and business friendly environment in the UK. Of course, we will need to see how this plays out but we hope that this will lead to positive changes.”
