Dr. Thomas Hlenski recived his Master of Social Work in 1975 from New York University and his Doctor of Social Welfare in 1987 from Adelphu University while also completing his dissertation on The Parental Role of the Stepfather.
From 1975 to 1985 Dr. Hlenski was employed at Northport Veteran’s Hospital working with veterans and their families regarding all matters emotional and psychological. From then, Dr. Hlenski advanced to working as an Independent Private Practitioner, Family and Couples Therapy.
Dr. Hlenski’s volunteer service includes working with the American Red Cross where he is the Disaster Mental Health Regional Program Lead, New York. His significant mass casualty deployments includes the 1996 TWA Flight 800 (Spontaneous Volunteer), 2009 Colgan Air Crash, 2016 Orlando/Pulse Shooting, 2017 Las Vegas Shooting, and the 2018 Schoharie Limousine crash.
