BritishAmerican Business CEO Duncan Edwards welcomed the Prime Minister’s decision to bring together the business and trade portfolios into one department.
“It is vital that international trade remains at the centre of the Government’s strategy and should form a central plank of a pro-business and growth agenda. Now more than ever, it is essential that the UK Government provides the best possible environment for overseas businesses to invest in the UK and for UK businesses to grow internationally.”
Mr Edwards also saw the creation of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero as an important step forward for the UK economy. “With both the EU and the US both outlining ambitious visions and offering generous incentives to business to boost growth, it is clear that the UK will need to double down and accelerate its plans if it wants to remain competitive.”
