Ann has held senior positions within several global organisations, concluding her executive career in Dec 2022 as Executive Vice Chair of Mastercard. Prior to this Ann was President of International Markets, responsible for all client facing business in over 200 countries. She was the CEO of Transaction Banking at ABN-AMRO and spent 15 years in senior roles at Citigroup. She also Chaired ICE Clear Europe, one of the world’s leading clearing houses, part of the Fortune 500 company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). During the crash of 2008 Ann joined Alvarez and Marsal as head of their European Financial practice and she acted as the CEO of Lehman Holdings Europe, during their chapter 11.
Ann is currently the lead non-executive board member for the UK government’s department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and is on the board of Lightrock, a global private equity platform investing in sustainable businesses. She is also chair of the Financial Alliance for Women, a global peer to peer network dedicated to economic advancement of women. She has a Pure Mathematics degree from Sheffield University and a M.Sc. with research into medical statistics from Newcastle University. She holds honorary doctorates from both universities and is also a fellow of London Business School.
