Executive Director and Chief Trade and Policy Officer
Emanuel Adam is Executive Director and Chief Trade and Policy Officer at BritishAmerican Business. He is part of the Executive Team at BAB. Based out of Washington, D.C., Emanuel is responsible for the development and execution of the organisation’s wider policy advocacy and trade & investment portfolio in both the US and the UK.
As part of his role, Emanuel manages BAB’s relationship with US and UK Governments and external stakeholders, he coordinates the engagement and work of BAB’s Trade and Policy Groups, and he serves as spokesperson for the organisation.
Over the course of his career, Emanuel has published numerous articles and publications in the field of transatlantic trade and investment. Emanuel has coordinated business input to several major trade negotiations, such as TTIP, the Brexit talks, the UK-US FTA and other bilateral agreements around innovation, mobility, aviation, tariffs and data flows. He regularly speaks at public events and comments in public media on current events. Emanuel has been widely recognized by both the UK and US Governments for his trade outreach campaigns (six to date) and his approach to making trade promotion accessible to smaller businesses.
Before assuming his current position, Emanuel led BAB’s London/UK office, and held further positions at BAB as Analyst, Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Policy & Trade. Prior to joining BAB, Emanuel was a Policy Advisor at the Trans-Atlantic Business Council (TABC) and EU Administrator at the former TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) in Brussels, Belgium.
Chief Executive Officer
Duncan Edwards is the chief executive of BritishAmerican Business, the leading transatlantic trade organization of some 450 companies, which has an ongoing mission to support policies which protect and enhance the environment for trade and investment in, and between, the USA and the UK. He is a regular contributor to policy debates and is a frequent media commentator on US UK relations.
Prior to this, Duncan Edwards spent over 30 years as a media executive in London and New York of which 27 years were spent at the Hearst Corporation. His most recent role at Hearst was President and CEO of the international magazine and digital media company, a business with activities in more than 60 countries which he led to record levels through acquisition and organic growth.
A British citizen, he currently lives in New York and Connecticut where he can often be found on long runs in the hills.
Managing Director
Tamra Eker is Managing Director of BritishAmerican Business (BAB), the leading transatlantic trade association. In this role she oversees strategy across the US/UK organization, with a focus on membership, marketing, programming and diversity & inclusion initiatives. She is also responsible for the organization’s US operation and is President of the BritishAmerican Business Network, the umbrella body of British American business chambers across the US and UK.
Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, Ms. Eker served a variety of roles at BAB including Executive Director; Senior Director & Deputy Head of New York; Interim Head of Events & Program Development; and Associate Director, Member Relations & Programs since arriving to BAB in 2007.
During her tenure at BAB, she has developed and implemented B2B and B2C strategies that substantively engage more than 400 multinational companies and SMEs in New York and London. These strategies have focused on business development, client relations, marketing & communications, and development of strategic partnerships.
Under Ms. Eker’s leadership, the organization has grown it’s programming and content portfolios, including leadership development programs; trade promotion content; diversity, equity & inclusion conversations; ESG and sustainability roundtables; conferences & working sessions for Financial Services and other key sectors.
Ms. Eker holds a B.A. in Sociology and Classical Voice from Tufts University and an M.A. in Nonprofit Administration from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development and Stern School of Business. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the European-American Chamber of Commerce in the United States and on the Board of Trustees with her synagogue, Temple Beth Sholom, in New York.
Executive Director, London
Alice Mount is the Executive Director, London for BritishAmerican Business (BAB), the leading transatlantic trade association which incorporates the American Chamber of Commerce in the UK. In her role, Alice is responsible for the operation of the UK branch, management of the London team with a focus on programming and membership.
Alice joined BAB’s London team in February 2017 and held several appointments including most recently Director, Strategic Partnerships and Events. She continues to develop bespoke programming with business leaders that delivers thought leadership for BAB’s member network of over 400 companies.
Prior to joining BAB London, Alice worked with Variety, the Children’s Charity, as their Head of Events for four years, raising funds for disadvantaged and disabled children, producing numerous gala events, and entertainment focussed events with a team of event coordinators and managers. She was a member of their senior management team reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee.
Alice lived and worked in the United States of America from September 1996 through February 2010 and worked with BritishAmerican Business in their New York office for 11 years working primarily in their events team and supporting the exchange visitor programme. During this period in New York, Alice also worked with American Australian Association for two years as their Director of Corporate Relations and Special Events before taking a two-year break for international travel with her husband.
Alice graduated with a BA Hons degree in Journalism, Film and Broadcasting from the University College Cardiff and is a dual UK and US citizen.
