Meet the Speaker: Brendan Reilly, Managing Director, Head of US Regulatory Policy & Government Relations, Barclays

Brendan T. Reilly is currently Managing Director and US head of regulatory policy and public affairs at Barclays.  In this role, Reilly oversees public policy for the firm, representing Barclays at all levels of government.  He also serves on a number of the firm’s broader leadership teams and steering committees, in addition to serving in a leadership capacity at several trade associations.

Before joining Barclays, Reilly was Managing Director and co-head of the Washington office for JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2011 to 2018. While at CREFC, Reilly spearheaded industry efforts related to recovery programs during the crisis (e.g., liquidity facilities and guarantee programs) and financial regulatory reform.  He also represented CREFC in the press and public fora, speaking regularly at official sector and industry events.

Reilly began his career in public service.  During his tenure on Capitol Hill, he worked as senior staff member at the US House Committee on Financial Services under then-Chairman Mike Oxley (R-OH) and Vice Chair Sue Kelly (R-NY).  He also previously was an aide to Reps. Bob Riley (R-AL) and senior policy advisor to Mike Ferguson (R-NJ), both Members of the US House Committee on Financial Services.

Reilly has a B.A. from Wake Forest University, where he studied political science and finance.
