BritishAmerican Business statement on Suspension of Retaliatory Tariffs Between U.S. and UK

In response to the announcement that the U.S. has suspended tariffs on UK goods as part of an ongoing trade dispute, BritishAmerican Business said:

We are pleased to see today’s announcement that the United Kingdom and United States have agreed on the removal of a range of retaliatory tariffs on British goods entering the U.S. for a period of four months, including Scotch Whisky, Textiles, Machinery, and Agricultural Products, among a range of other goods, as well as a joint de-escalation of the Boeing-Airbus dispute.

As we found during our recent Making a Difference Virtual Roadshow, the tariffs imposed as part of the Boeing-Airbus dispute particularly impacted SMEs who struggled to absorb the additional costs of doing business across the Atlantic. We look forward to continuing to support both sides in reaching a long-term settlement to the dispute.
