BritishAmerican Business’s Corporate Citizenship Award Dinner is a highlight of London’s transatlantic business calendar bringing together more than 200 influential business leaders from both sides of the Atlantic as well as other dignitaries including senior representation from UK and US Governments. Past honourees have included Jayne-Anne Gadhia, Xavier Rolet KBE, Stephen McGill, Arun Sarin, Lord Browne, Peter Voser, Sir Martin Sorrell and Sir Michael Rake.
At this Dinner, BritishAmerican Business will be presenting its Corporate Citizenship Awards for 2019 to António Horta‐Osório, Group Chief Executive, Lloyds Banking Group and Karen Blackett OBE, Country Manager, WPP, in recognition of their exceptional commitment to corporate citizenship. We will show appreciation for the work they have done in advancing the cause of wellbeing and equality in the workplace, their commitment to corporate social responsibility through charitable philanthropy and their willingness to promote transparency and best practice in corporate governance.
BAB are honouring Karen Blackett for all she has done to champion the cause of inclusion and diversity in the workplace from the Apprenticeship Scheme she established in 2012, the creation of Inclusion@MediaCom campaign using real-life impactful stories, the WPP Returners programme and all her dedication with numerous mentor schemes. Her courage and leadership as the newly appointed race equality business champion with the Race At Work Charter are having a commendable impact on other businesses that are following her direction.
António Horta‐Osório will be honoured for all he and Lloyds Banking Group have done to advance the cause of inclusion and diversity, and in particular his inspirational leadership in tackling mental health in the workplace. What Lloyds Banking Group say:
Lloyds Banking Group’s purpose is to Help Britain Prosper and to shift mind sets to recognise that we all have mental health, just as we all have physical health.
