Background and experience
►Kal has more than 14 years of experience helping companies design and operationalize transformative sustainability initiatives. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies to advance environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and generate measurable long-term value for business, stakeholders and society.
►Kal brings significant experience driving ESG strategy design, goal setting, program implementation and reporting for food and beverage companies. Through cross-functional engagement, he has helped clients build successful cases for increased integration of ESG and the broader business.
►Working with sustainability and ESG functions, he has established formal ESG reporting processes to increase confidence in ESG reporting, aligning corporate, regional, and site-level activities. This work included assessing the criteria used by companies against the requirements of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) attestation standards, process mapping, and risk and control matrix development.
►Kal has also led dozens of ESG internal audits for global companies. He assessed the data collection, calculation, aggregation and reporting processes for ESG metrics and disclosures and provided recommendations to companies as they prepared to seek third-party assurance.
►He has developed methodology and tools to measure the environmental and social impacts of investments, operational and supply chain activities. He then helped companies put the impact data to use by enhancing ESG reporting, strategy design, supplier engagement and sourcing decisions.
