The Home Office is rolling out its digitalisation programme at pace. eVisas (digital status) will replace physical immigration documents, including Biometric Residence Permits, by the end of 2024. Further, the extension of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system to visitors from most countries (including the US) from 27 November 2024 means that many travellers who do not require a UK visa will now need to secure an ETA before travelling to the UK.

Businesses and individuals therefore need to be aware of the forthcoming changes, deadlines and the required next steps.
